Treatments We Offer

Non-surgical and non-opioid treatments

All treatment options at OSF Pain and Spine Center are entirely opioid-free. Using these alternative, effective pain management treatments means you can avoid the side effects caused by long-term opioid use. Long-term opioid use can lead to osteoporosis, opioid dependency, constipation, nausea and other conditions.

Treatments we use include lidocaine and steroid injections and radio frequency ablation. Both treatments are effective at decreasing pain, increasing quality of life and are less invasive than surgery.

These treatments include:

  • Occipital nerve blocks
  • Cervical medial branch blocks
  • Cervical transforaminal epidural steroid injection
  • Shoulder joint injection
  • Shoulder tendon insertion injection
  • Elbow joint injection

Surgical treatments

Some cases may be best treated surgically. If you and your provider choose surgical treatment, a neurosurgeon and spine surgeons from OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute are here to treat you with the best expertise available. Because your providers are all in the same facility, your care is more coordinated.
