Room Service

Meals Prepared Fresh and Made-to-Order

To provide wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals – served when patients want their trays delivered and with food they have requested – the OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Food and Nutrition Services department offers room service.

Similar to room service at a hotel, this program allows patients – and their visitors if they wish – to order meals from a restaurant-style menu between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Patients have the flexibility of ordering what they want to eat and when they want it delivered to their rooms.

Inpatients no longer are awakened by a breakfast tray delivered too early or have to wait for a dinner they wanted an hour ago.

Also, the meals are prepared fresh daily, ensuring the finest quality.

The restaurant-style menu offers breakfast all day, featuring fresh made-to-order omelets, French toast, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast quesadillas.

Lunch and dinner services start at 10:30 a.m., featuring entrée salads, grilled items, sandwiches, pizzas, home-style entrees and vegetarian (CHIP) selections.

Selections are as diverse as teriyaki vegetable stir fry, quesadillas, pastas, baked chicken, lemon cod and roast turkey with gravy. The menu even features appetizers, such as soup, a fresh fruit cup, a veggie snack plate, bruschetta and black bean and corn salad.

Those who prefer light meals can select an assorted fruit and cheese plate, various salads or create their own sandwich with a selection of breads and fillings.

If a patient becomes hungry between meals, snacks can also be ordered, if the diet permits.

The menus are adopted to patients’ dietary restrictions, whether low sodium, low sugar, low calorie or for any other needs.
