OSF PromptCare are walk-in clinics designed to assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries when a patient’s primary care provider is busy or unavailable.

OSF PromptCare is not designed to provide care for life-threating illnesses or injuries. Always call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

If you have a non-urgent need during the hours when OSF PromptCare is closed, use OSF OnCall.

OSF OnCall Urgent Care, with in-person care and virtual visits, can also be used for minor illnesses and injuries. Virtual visits have the added convenience of being available 24/7 from wherever you are.

  • Animal bites or insect stings
  • Asthma symptoms (minor)
  • Bladder infection symptoms
  • Burns (minor)
  • Conjunctivitis/eye
  • Cough
  • Ear pain
  • Fever
  • Foreign body removal (minor)
  • Minor Cuts
  • Open and draining minor abscesses
  • Puncture wound needing tetanus shot
  • Sinus infection
  • Skin rashes
  • Sore throat
  • Sports physicals
  • Sprains, strains, possible broken bones
  • Stitches or staple removal

OSF PromptCare is not a replacement for your primary care doctor. After a visit with an OSF PromptCare doctor, you will be referred back to your primary care doctor for follow-up care as needed. If you do not have a doctor, you will be given a referral at the time of your visit

For more severe problems, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain or stroke symptoms, you should call 911 or seek treatment at the OSF St. Mary Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours a day to serve you.
