The new Surgical Center has updated operating rooms, including post-op, pre-op and waiting rooms, expanding our capacity to serve you with the greatest care and love.

At OSF St. Mary Medical Center, we have the latest and safest technology, to make your surgery less stressful. Our staff is highly trained to monitor your safety and well-being throughout your entire visit.

What to Expect/Bring

OSF St Mary Medical Center Smmc Surgery 3On the day of your surgery, please report to Registration located, on the first-floor lobby, at the time you were told to arrive by the pre-op nurse. Please make sure to bring your insurance information, including policy number and pre-certification number.

When you are talking with your preoperative nurse, you will need a list of all known drug allergies and any medicine you are taking, including the amount and times they are taken.

For your comfort, you may want to bring your CPAP machine and a robe and slippers if you are spending the night.

Special Policies

  • Leave jewelry, money and credit cards at home.
  • Please do not bring small children with you.
  • All visitors must sign in and out at the surgery waiting room desk.
  • Have someone with you to who can drive you home and stay with you. You will not be able to take a taxi or bus home.
