Has your doctor ordered an X-Ray for you? As an OSF Saint Luke patient, you have the best of both worlds: a fully digital radiology department, (with state-of-the-art equipment) and comfortable, quality care right here at home.
Our computerized radiography and digital radiography require no film. This means your technologist can take your X-rays and transmit them directly by computer to the radiologist. Your provider can also see your images on his or her office computer.
Specialized exams are also done here, using fluoroscopy and a type of "contrast." If you need any other specialty radiology exams, instructions will be provided at the time of scheduling.
If you have had a scan (X-ray, CT scan, MRI) completed at another OSF HealthCare facility, our staff can access those files via your electronic medical record. If your scan was performed at a facility outside of OSF, please bring copies of the films or a CD of the files with you the day of your test. You may also request that your doctor's office send the films or results to us before your test.
Please remove all jewelry and/or piercing prior to your test. All metal objects outside your body in the area of interest must be removed before completing the x-ray. The technologist performing your exam will give you further instructions.
Because we wish to avoid potential harm to an unborn baby as a result of the radiation or medication, it is our policy to conduct pregnancy tests on all menstruating female patients having a CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, angiography, or X-ray exams of the pelvic/uterine area.
The test should be ordered by your physician. Home pregnancy tests are not acceptable.
If you know that you are pregnant, please notify your physician.
An order is needed to make an appointment with the OSF Saint Luke X-ray department.
If you have an order for yourself, or would like to refer a patient, please call OSF Saint Luke Central Scheduling at (309) 852-7550. We can let you know if your exam needs to be scheduled or if you can just show up at your convenient time.
Appointments for scheduled X-ray exams are offered Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8 a.m.-noon. Radiologists from Central Illinois Radiology are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
X-ray services are provided at OSF Saint Luke 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you have questions, please call Radiology at (309) 852-7680. Our X-ray technologists will be happy to assist you.
