At OSF HealthCare we understand that transitioning from a nursing student to a professional nurse can be challenging. The newly structured OSF HealthCare Transition to Practice Program is designed to support new nurse graduates by ensuring a successful transition to practice.

Program Structure

Our 12-month Nurse Resident Program (NRP) offers a comprehensive range of learning experiences that aligns with best practices and mentorship. The program features a structured onboarding process, active education to enhance competency and confidence, core workshops aimed at improving 5-star quality, professional development opportunities and collaboration among other residents.

Nursing ResidentsThis program fosters role transition, organizational enculturation and a strong sense of belonging.

The NRP is open to all new graduate nurses from accredited BSN or ADN programs hired for employment as an RN at OSF HealthCare. Once hired, you will automatically be enrolled in the program; no separate application is required.
