OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center has been recognized as a Magnet® hospital five consecutive times, making it one of 49 hospitals in the nation to achieve this status. The Magnet-recognized facilities undergo a rigorous evaluation process, including written documentation, extensive interviews, and an on-site review of nursing services.
Research shows that Magnet-recognized hospitals attract and retain quality nurses more effectively. The American Nurses Credentialing Center monitors each facility to ensure it maintains high standards of care and Magnet Recognition Program requirements.
In 2019, OSF Saint Francis was awarded the Magnet Prize for exemplifying leading-edge research, practices, services, technologies, programs or other exemplary innovations designed to increase the knowledge base of support for patient care and nursing excellence and to demonstrate positive outcomes.
